The Legacy of the Church
Have you ever asked yourself what kind of legacy you’re leaving?
It’s a heavy question. One we often associate with retirement speeches or headstones. But Jesus didn’t wait for a future version of us to start talking about legacy—He invited us into it now.
In Matthew 16, Jesus tells Peter, “On this rock I will build my church.” But here’s the thing—He wasn’t talking about a building. He was talking about people. About you. About a Church so deeply rooted in who Jesus is that even the gates of hell won’t shake it.
Here at Victory Hill, we believe that legacy isn’t built by accident. It’s built every time someone opens a door with a smile, rocks a crying baby, brews coffee, or leads a small group. The legacy of our church is written by people who decide the mission is “worth my time.”
Legacy is generosity in action. It’s time well spent. It’s showing up, not just sitting back.
So what about you? What are you building?
You don’t have to have it all figured out. You just have to take the next step. Whether that’s signing up to serve, jumping into a group, or giving for the first time—you’re helping create something that will outlive you.
