Rooted “ROOTED IN WORSHIP”
SERMON TITLE: “ROOTED IN WORSHIP”
Definition of Worship: Worship is glorifying God in His presence with our voices, hearts, and lives. It is the expression of reverence, adoration, and delight in God for who He is and what He has done.
2 Kings 3:14-18 – 14 Elisha responded, “By the life of the Lord of Armies, before whom I stand: If I did not have respect for King Jehoshaphat of Judah, I wouldn’t look at you; I would not take notice of you. 15 Now, bring me a musician.” While the musician played, the Lord’s hand came on Elisha. 16 Then he said, “This is what the Lordsays: ‘Dig ditch after ditch in this wadi.’ 17 For the Lordsays, ‘You will not see wind or rain, but the wadi will be filled with water, and you will drink you and your cattle and your animals.’ 18 This is easy in the Lord’s sight. He will also hand Moab over to you.
1. WORSHIP *SHIFTS *OUR *FOCUS
Psalms 121:1-2 – I lift my eyes toward the mountains. Where will my help come from? My help comes from the Lord , the Maker of heaven and earth.
2 Kings 2:23-24 – From there Elisha went up to Bethel. As he was walking up the path, some small boys came out of the city and jeered at him, chanting, “Go up, baldy! Go up, baldy!” 24 He turned around, looked at them, and cursed them in the name of the Lord . Then two female bears came out of the woods and mauled forty-two of the children.
2 Kings 3:11 – But Jehoshaphat said, “Isn’t there a prophet of the Lord here? Let’s inquire of the Lord through him.” One of the servants of the king of Israel answered, “Elisha son of Shaphat, who used to pour water on Elijah’s hands, is here.”
